The Adventist World Radio is an international broadcast ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Its mission is to broadcast the gospel to people from all over the world in their languages. AWR broadcasts up to a thousand hours weekly via shortwave, AM/FM radio, and the Internet. Its programs are produced in over a hundred different languages in locally-operated studios. It has touched lives, healed wounds, and mended broken hearts through the power of God Almighty and the never-ending work of the Holy Spirit.
And one such story of mending broken hearts is that story of our dear friend, Rosalia. Rosalia is from the beautiful Island nation of Fiji in the South Pacific. She shares her story of how a single post from AWR brought her out of her own experience of the brokenness and hopelessness that she was experiencing in her life. When asked how she came across AWR and how God has impacted her life through this ministry, she says it all began from a single post.
Rosalia, recalls the first time she came across a post from AWR. During that time she was deeply suffering from heartbreak, something once said she would never experience before. In her deepest sorrow and regret, she came across this post from AWR to send in your prayer requests if you would like us to pray for you. For her, this was the breakthrough she needed so much as she desperately needed to talk to someone. She reached out to AWR and instantly, AWR became a friend in her time of need. She recalls that AWR were prompt with their responses and that experience gave her the courage to pour out her heart to whoever was sitting behind the screen.
The hope-filled Bible verses, uplifting songs, and even the advice that was shared helped her immensely. For the first time in her life, she felt like the prayers were working in her life. She acknowledges that healing did not come instantly, but she is grateful that God through AWR has helped nudge her toward God during her time of hurting.
She admits that seeking God was never the first thing or even an option for her during her darkest days, but God used the AWR platform to remind her of God’s love and goodness.
She testifies that God through His wisdom brought her away from her homeland for a month to work on her, and she is thankful for her time away from home. It has allowed her to re-evaluate herself and let God work on her. She shares that, during this time, she enjoyed seeking God day and night, crying out to Him to heal her heart, to give her the courage to forgive those who’ve wronged her, and for the heart of kindness to help them in their individual lives. Now that she is back home, she wishes for a continued relationship with Jesus so she reached out again to AWR and lo and behold, she got connected with the Zoom Bible Study – “Path of Peace” which she admits is what she needs right now.
Her message to everyone is that don’t be surprised by how God works, for He works in mysterious ways, whether it’s through media or by chatting with a total stranger from halfway across the globe. God will reveal to you that you’re never alone in your hurting and pain.
