Lit-Lit began as a small congregation of just ten members, primarily elderly believers in Silang, Cavite. Their hunger for fellowship was undeniable, and with faith as their foundation, they decided to meet for God. One church member generously offered her backyard for the meetings. With simple walls and a roof for shelter, they gathered Sabbath after Sabbath, worshipping God and praying that one day they would build a true church.
Team Influence from Adventist World Radio joined them monthly, providing preachers, midweek support, and encouragement. Over five months, they witnessed firsthand the power of faith in action. “Stepping into the heart of the Lit-Lit community was a humbling experience. Amidst the crowded streets and makeshift shelters were people filled with resilience, hope, and unwavering faith,” shared Valentine, an AWR CDE missionary, after visiting one Sabbath.
These Sabbath visitations began with a heartfelt welcome from the local members. Though their surroundings were modest, the warmth of their hospitality and the strength of their worship created an atmosphere of peace and devotion. Their prayers were fervent, their faith unshaken, a true beacon of hope despite hardship. Each week, they gathered to worship, pray, share meals, and strengthen their bond as a spiritual family. The sound of hymns blended with the laughter of children and the whispered prayers of the faithful, filling the air with joy and reverence.
As the congregation grew, so did their vision. By the end of 2024, the Lit-Lit Church members finally saw their dream come true, an answered prayer: a temple built in the same backyard where it all began.
Through unwavering faith, fervent hearts, and the support of an Adventist group, their doors are now open to all who seek the Lord.
From every corner, cries for assistance echo, and God calls His people to extend a helping hand. “It is more blessed to give than to receive….” (Acts 20:35) When God blesses His children, it is not just for their benefit, but for the contribution to the facilitation of spreading the gospel.
