Mission in Langkaan, Silang, Cavite

With great teamwork, Humayao Care Group and Team Connect organized a crusade to share the Gospel with the community. After planting the seed of faith, they extended their mission by addressing people’s medical needs in Langkaan, Humayao. Here’s what happened.

Yboon, a member of Team Connect, one of the teams in Adventist World Radio (AWR) Center for Digital Evangelism (CDE), joined the Medical Mission. She shared that these missions are a special opportunity to reach out, especially in communities where many struggle with health issues. “Medical care is one of the basic needs we as a church can help provide,” she said.

The mission began early in the morning, with preparations starting at 6 a.m. and doors opening at 8 a.m. Missionaries took on different roles to assist the medical team. Yboon worked at the registration area, where she met and guided each patient. That day alone, around 481 people came seeking medical assistance.

The mission offered a range of essential medical services, including: free medicine and prescriptions; blood testing and blood sugar checks; general check-ups for children and adults; eye exams and health lectures on the NEW START program, which teaches better nutrition, exercise, and healthy habits. Even though the long day was exhausting, the joy on people’s faces encouraged the missionaries to keep going. Yboon witnessed firsthand how much the community appreciated the medical outreach.

Medical Missions are a powerful way to introduce people to Jesus. After the event on Sunday, December 1, 2024, the church took the next step by visiting the homes of those who attended. This mission wasn’t just about healthcare, it was about building relationships and leading people closer to Christ.

While many received the care they needed, some had to leave due to long wait times. Seeing this, the team extended their hours, closing at 4 p.m. “Even if it’s beyond our schedule, if it’s for God’s glory, we can make time!”

Instead of following the usual pattern of Medical Mission → Crusade → Baptism, Team Connect took a different approach. They started with the Crusade, followed by the Medical Mission, and plan to hold another Crusade in the coming months. Their belief is simple: First, the Healer comes. And when He comes, healing follows; physically and spiritually.
