Ayme is a missionary at Adventist World Radio’s Center for Digital Evangelism (CDE). Raised in an Adventist home with her parents and sister, she grew up knowing about God, but it wasn’t until later that she truly saw how active He was in her life.
Her turning point came during a cultural exchange program in the United States, where she studied to become an ESL teacher while working as a nanny. It was a life-changing season. “Before going abroad, I felt like I had been living in a bubble,” Ayme shared. “But being in a new country opened my eyes to how God was moving in my life in ways I hadn’t seen before.” Alone in a foreign place, she witnessed God’s faithfulness; not just in the big miracles, but in the quiet, everyday moments. It deepened her trust and led her to apply as a volunteer missionary, as an expression of gratitude to the One who had always been there

Still, ministry life wasn’t always easy. Ayme went through spiritual battles; times when prayer became hard, Scripture felt distant, and motivation seemed to fade. But she held on. “God welcomes us even when we’re struggling,” she said. In those quiet, lonely times, she brought her burdens to Him, searching Scripture for strength. Her spiritual family at CDE, along with friends and loved ones, reminded her of her calling and helped carry her through.
One of the most powerful lessons she learned during her mission was about identity. “What impacted me most was knowing how God sees me and where my worth comes from.” That truth became her anchor. It changed the way she saw herself; no longer through the eyes of others, but through the eyes of her Creator.

She remembers a moment during a mission trip that changed her life. As the speaker preached, something in her heart shifted. “I no longer wanted to live for people’s approval,” she said. In response, she stood up during the appeal and chose to be re-baptized, fully surrendering her life to God. That moment still serves as a powerful reminder of her identity in Christ.
“There’s no one formula,” she says. “God leads each of us differently.” Even when others don’t understand, Ayme encourages us to follow where God is leading, because that’s where we’ll grow, and that’s where we’ll be a blessing.
“The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” — Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)
