Mariana Nikita Pattymahu, a 23-year-old with a degree in Business Management, never imagined herself in ministry. Her dream was to work in a bank, far from the path of becoming a digital missionary at Adventist World Radio’s Center for Digital Evangelism (AWR-CDE). But one day, inspired by her Adventist mom and the power of social media, she felt a calling to use online platforms to bring people closer to God.
Even so, Nikita wrestled with doubts. She questioned whether her background was enough for mission work and felt anxious about leaving her family for the first time. But instead of letting fear stop her, she decided to trust God. That trust grew stronger over time, leading her to read the Bible more and depend on God’s strength rather than her own. She also began to pray more for her father and brother, hoping they too would come to know God’s love.

Her time as a digital missionary drew her into a deeper walk with God. One unforgettable moment happened during a crusade when her PowerPoint presentation suddenly disappeared right before she was scheduled to speak. Though panicked at first, she turned to the Holy Spirit for guidance and was able to preach using a backup file just in time. That experience reminded her that God is always at work behind the scenes, even when things feel out of control.
Nikita has learned that God’s timing is perfect and His strength is made known in our weakness. Even when the results of ministry aren’t immediately seen, she believes that God uses every step of faith. Through every challenge, she saw God providing the wisdom, courage, and help she needed.

To anyone considering digital missions, Nikita encourages: “Take that leap of faith. God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called.” Her journey proves that God can use anyone to make a difference, no matter their background.
Stepping into the mission not only allowed her to help others, it also transformed her own heart. Through obedience and faith, Nikita discovered a deeper purpose and a closer walk with God, more than she ever imagined.
